About us
Andali Events is the sister company of Andali Fitness and was established in 2022 to provide fitness events and competitions for all abilities, following the announcement by Be Endurance that they were no longer able to promote the award-winning Storm the Castle duathlon.
Andali Events directors Andy Silvey and Harriet Dearden decided to team up to retain this fantastic local race for both the community of Ludlow and for athletes from all over the UK. In addition to Storm the Castle, Andali Events has also taken on the Ludlow10 race and the Beacons Ultra as well as introducing the Factor4Games, Midsummer Mortimer Trail ultra and Midwinter Mortimer Trail ultra.
Andy Silvey
Before becoming a Personal Trainer and setting up Andali Fitness in 2015, Andy served 14 years in Her Majesty’s Royal Marines Commandos, three years teaching in high schools and eight years ensuring the safe passage of merchant shipping through high-risk areas. Recent sporting highlights have included his sixth Storm the Castle duathlon, four Ludlow10 road races, a couple of 40 and 50 mile ultra marathons, a half Ironman-distance triathlon, the Rat Race 40 mile , 200 obstacles and the National Three Peaks Challenge. In 2005 he completed the grueling 125 mile ‘Devizes to Westminster’ kayak race. He loves encouraging people out of their comfort zone and helping them to take on new challenges.
Harriet Dearden
Harriet is a fundraiser by background and after many years sitting at a desk in front of a computer, signed up for her first duathlon, Storm the Fort, in 2018. Since then, she hasn’t looked back, and has completed several half-marathons, a marathon, four Storm the Castle duathlons, two Ludlow10 road races, and more recently, learnt to swim so that she could take part in the Middle-Distance triathlon British Championships. She took part in Ironman Weymouth 70.3 in 2022. In 2024 Harriet completed 40 mile and 50 mile ultra runs.
